MASTER DAWIT TEREFE – “A LEGACY IN COMBAT SPORTS”!

Meet Master Dawit Terefe, a dedicated Martial Artist and Coach, whose life has been dedicated to Mastering the Art of Combat Sports. With more than 35 years of experience, both in the Ring and Octagon, his journey in Martial Arts has been a rich tapestry of Competition, dedicated Training, and Personal Growth. Throughout his accomplished Career, he’s achieved unparalleled success in multiple disciplines, his personal development with deep knowledge in Martial Arts. As the 5th Dan founder of Ethiopia’s largest kickboxing and MMA Academy, he is totally committed to sharing his expertise, by shaping the next generation of fighters for years to come.

A FIGHTER’S JOURNEY

Master Dawit’s Martial Arts journey began in the Ring, where he first discovered his passion for kickboxing and Combat Sports. He currently holds a 5th Dan in Kickboxing (Bahren), which is a testament to the level of dedication and expertise he has invested in the sport over the years. Master Dawit has become a (6) Six-Time National and International Champion, having fought and triumphed in over 25 Kickboxing and Sanda WuShu Competitions. These experiences in the ring not only honed his skills to become the man he is today, but also instilled a deep understanding of the mental and physical demands required to succeed at the highest levels of competition for himself.

In addition to kickboxing, he’s also competed in MMA, where he participated in two Major International Events. For himself, the Octagon proved to be a different challenge altogether, demanding a versatile skill set, which he developed through years of training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and other grappling Arts. Master Dawit proudly hold a 1st Dan in Jiu-Jitsu (Germany), which has been crucial to his growth and understanding of the technical and tactical aspects of MMA. My combat experience is further enriched by my training in Wushu Kung Fu at the legendary Shaolin Temple in China. This journey expanded my fighting style to include fluid movements, explosive strikes, and a focus on internal strength—elements that now influence my training and approach to both kickboxing and MMA. He was also honored to have been named Kung Fu Champion in Egypt, securing 3rd place internationally in a highly competitive International field.

MASTERY THROUGH KNOWLEDGE

While Master Dawit’s experience as a fighter is extensive, his commitment to Martial Arts goes well beyond just physical competition. He earned his Academic University Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Science from Kotebe University, which gave him the Academic Foundation to understand the Science behind Physical Performance, Training, and Recovery. This knowledge allows him to design Training Programs that not only build athletic skills but also optimize Performance, minimize injury, and enhance the longevity of his athletes. With the fusion of practical fighting experience and academic knowledge, Master Dawit offers a comprehensive approach to Martial Arts Training. Whether it be in the Competition Ring, the Octagon, or in a Traditional Styles Martial Arts in a Classroom, his philosophy centers around Discipline, Strategy, and Continuous Improvement.

Now, as the 5th Dan founder of Ethiopia’s largest kickboxing and MMA Club, Master Dewet’s mission is to pass on his years of Knowledge, Skills, and Philosophy that have shaped his career. His Academic knowledge in Sport Science from Kotebe University, providing a scientific approach to Training solidifies his wealth of knowledge, that all who comes to train with him and fight under his guidance, they are getting the BEST Fight Training in all Ethiopia. Finally, his completed Training at the Shaolin Temple in China, shaped his humble approach to Martial Arts, with Traditional and Modern Techniques. The proven results – Thousands of Students trained, many achieving success both Nationally and Internationally.

WKF ETHIOPIA NATIONAL KICKBOXING & MMA CHAMPIONSHIPS

This “HUGE” Combat Sports Martial Arts Tournament is scheduled in Addis Abba, Ethiopia in June 2025. WKF Ethiopia President Master Dawit Terefe will be selecting the WKF Ethiopia National Team to compete ate the upcoming WKF World Championships (October 2025) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
